I call bs. Self promote. No lumens listed. Why would anyone buy thus without listing lumens? Apparently 44 people did according to reviews.

Thank you for sharing. I posted a similar message previously and am copying and pasting part of it.

I have this type of flashlight, but labeled with other brands' names. From what I know, they're essentially the same and are made by a handful of manufacturers, then branded afterward. There are at least two dozen brands with this type of flashlight on Amazon, and even more on eBay.

Somewhat amazingly, this particular product has a Grade A Rating on FakeSpot.com [fakespot.com], which indicates that "Over 90% high quality reviews are present." I skimmed the 44 customer reviews and saw that there was only a couple shilled reviews.

For better or worse, this this product does not state how many lumens it has. On the plus side, other similar flashlights by other brands have ridiculous claims, such as 1,600 and 2,000 lumens. However, it would be nice to know how many lumens this flashlight actually has.

$5.99 is not a steep price if you have Prime, and I'd say these are brighter than virtually any flashlight you can pick up in a mainstream US store without spending more than $10. The zoom and different settings features are pretty neat. In a way, I would recommend this flashlight for certain usages. For example, I usually take a few of these camping; if I lose them or they break, then so be it. Two or three hard drops will probably end these flashlights, but take care of them decently and they should be fairly reliable and can be used for more than a year or two years.

Do note that this flashlight mainly uses a 18650 battery, which is not included. Alternatively, it comes with a plastic pipe so that you can use three AAA batteries instead. In my personal testing of these flashlights, a single 18650 will yield more brightness than three AAA batteries.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Thanks Tofu Vic for the added detail. I decided to bite for my kid's sleep away camp flashlight. Small, cheap and probably brighter than similarly priced stuff at Target. And if it breaks or gets lost, who cares?

I had to look to the reviews to find the lumens. Looks to be around 300-500:

- I would highly recommend it but keep in mind any xmlt6 can only put out about 500 lumens but bright enough to amaze you and these are well made hard to believe they are so nice for the price.
- The description says variously 260 and 300 Lumens on High. I have no way of measuring the Lumen output, but this is BRIGHT and compares favorably with other flashlights I own that are rated in the same approximate Lumen range.
- I don't have any way to measure the Lumens, but on High this is definitely as bright as other flashlights I own that are rated around 500 Lumens.
- Would be 5/5, but it is far from 900 lumens. Another flashlight which is 325 lumens shined through this lights beam, so i'd say it's around 300 lumens. Other than that, it is very good.

I think the lumen rating are generally bs anyway. I have that one, I paid about the same off eBay a few months ago. It is freaking bright. I had a few led lights and none of them come close to that one. Impressive little things. This being said it is my first Cree flash light and there might be much brighter one out there but chances that if you never had a Cree one you will be impressed. It is also well made, feels solid and the focusing mechanism is very smooth.

Should be a little better than the single AA units I have now, for 6 bucks I'll get one to try out.

The lights with zoom generally have had poor light distribution and never get to a focus you are looking for. I would stick to the non-zooming types.
