What's the rebate limit on the RT-N56U? It's limit 2 for purchase, but I don't see the actual rebate limit (for that specific item) until I proceed past the page where I have to enter the order number.

Can someone check? Just try to add RT-N56U rebates to your "rebate order" and see if it stops at 1 or 2.

Make sure you look at the initial rebate form. It says:

Only 1 rebate(s) per qualifying product per household per promotion will be accepted.

It also says Limit 1 per household next to the rebate link at Newegg on the product page.

OP also has limit 1 per household in red.

Thanks, I had only looked at the initial rebate form, which is a bit misleading because they allow multiple products in the same rebate (and many times >1 quantity of the same product)

I've got this router running Padavan firmware. so far it's been rock solid. 5ghz works great on it and for the price it's no brainier if you need a cheap reliable router. Doesn't have AC but not really an issue for me.

I'm assuming you are talking about the Asus rt-n56u. Is there a reason you chose Padavan over dd-wrt?

Padavan firmware is great. I'm running it on my Belkin N750. Is it still being updated? There hasn't been a new version for the Belkin for some time, but that may just be because someone hasn't converted it from the Asus version.

How is the wireless range of the Asus though, without the external antennas?

Make sure you register for the rebate right now. You do so on the website. Once you do that, you will have 30 days to mail the documents.

Do we really need ac routers. We get internet as a group in community from time warner, when i test it via oklay speed test i see max speed wired is 53 mbps. So i feel if max speed is itself 53 mbps what is the use of taking ac routers say ac1200 or ac1900 which has speed range above 800 mbps. I think this router with max speed of 300 mbps will suffice. Is this understanding correct ?

The registration page asks for the order number, so you will need to order first. The link to the web page is in the rebate PDF found on the Newegg product page.
