Yeah I thought it was an oxymoron too which was why I put measurement in title too Smilie Maybe monoprice considers it to be "mini".

Going to bite and buy one for the upcoming wedding instead of renting a PA system.

Damn... Do I get this for $50 or the ion for double the price... I am happy to spend the money as long as it's justified. Don't care for brand names, just want good full poweful sound.

fyi H x W x D = 11.0" x 9.1" x 8.3"... so can roughly estimate the size with a sheet of paper

Be aware when searching for reviews there is a regular (non mini) version

I'd say mini indeed for this type of speaker. I doubt it would have enough Oompf to use as a PA unless it was a small/medium room.

Dimensions 9.1" x 11.0" x 8.3" (230 x 280 x 210 mm)
Weight 10.6 lbs. (4.8kg)

I have the Block Rocker. It is one of the best purchases I made. Got it on BF for $100 at costco. They really swung for the fences with battery life, and it's got plenty of volume/bass. Mine is rated at 72 hours and I believe it. I've used it for the following:

- My go-to practice amp for playing bass guitar

- Week long camping trip in Mexico - no electricity. Used primarily as an amp for my bass guitar.

- A PA system for an outdoor wedding, and then as background music for several hours at the reception, and then at full volume for several more hours for the dance party portion of the reception... all on a single charge.

- Connected to my phone via bluetooth, running a white noise amp, I can drown out the truck next door with the modified exhaust that fires up at 5am.

My opinion: I don't know how the Monoprice product compares to the Block Rocker, but you won't be disappointed with the Block Rocker

See my previous post. The Block Rocker worked great for this purpose. Wedding was combo indoor/outdoor and probably had 50-75 people in attendance. Not sure how this product compares, but you're on the right track...
