A 120 Hz TV doesn't send 120 frames per second over the HDMI input.

The point is that a 120 Hz panel has a much faster pixel response time, which means the image will smear less. 60 Hz = 17 milliseconds, while 120 Hz = 8 ms. So that 120 Hz TV has a much better panel.

In addition, the 120 Hz panel can accept video at any frame rate -- 24, 30 or 60 -- and play it smoothly, without using a 2:3 cadence like a 60 Hz TV does. This smooths motion.

Plasma TV's just aren't cost-competitive with LCD's anymore, and production of plasma is near-zero. I don't think there are any 4K plasma panels. The high-end in panels these days are ten bit panels with Quantum Dot technology.

The few reviews on Amazon are slightly concerning, namely that you can't install new apps despite it being a "smart" TV.

Walmart seem to be selling only 60hz refresh rate at these low kind of prices..
Or they dont have many 120Hz models..

Spend $30 on a chrome cast or Amazon Fire stick. Problem solved.
