Thread Details

I know i'm probably going to get some flak for this being that this is a semi gimmicky and normally overpriced item... but for those who were curious and looking to give this a try, now is a good opportunity.

Three Jerks advertises their Jerky as "Only the finest filet mignon is used when making Three Jerks Jerky. We carefully and lovingly jerkify our fine meats without any preservatives or additives."

They were also featured on Shark Tank (hence their name recognition)

Today only, you can try their Jerky for 50% off (Normally $11.99 per 2.5oz bag)

http://www.threejerksjerky.com/

You will receive a pop up advertising their 50% off promo (just hit accept) - Discount will be applied at checkout.

It looks like it will work for up to 2 bags, which is $16.99 (with $5 shipping)
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Yeah.. def not the cheapest, and if you read their reviews, that's their biggest knock.. I have tried it before. While I did like the Jerk, I felt it was too pricey.. but for 50% off, I did get 2 bags as a treat.

if you want good jerky, there is only one place:

http://www.praseks.com/index.php/...orite.html

never heard of this one, and for the price, will pass as well. the reviews on amazon are not good.

bookmarked! I like going to a jerky place and just seeing a pile of jerky. No fancy packaging or advertising.

Prasek's just wraps it in paper like a butcher shop. They do vacuum seal it when ordered online. Have been buying from them for years.

Venison and Cajun Turkey are a couple favorites.

asked the wife about trying this Three Jerks, and she said "for that price, just order Prasek's"....laugh out loud

It is "on sale" for fifty-four bucks a pound?! NO! Bad deal!

For comparison, I will not knock the Wagyu (sp?) Kobi beef listings at Costco because that may be horribly expensive, but could be a once in a lifetime treat, and cheaper than a cruise or other vacation. I won't go that far, but a prime rib every couple years helps my attitude.

But jerky?! I love jerky, and have made my own from beef and sometimes other critters. But there is NO way I would even consider this price.

And "no preservatives or additives"?! Jerky NEEDS them, at least salt. Basic "cure" salt has nitrite. And sugar is another common preservative. I agree that you can make jerky just from the raw meat, but it will be hard and dry. I like hard and dry, but I won't pay big money for preserved food.
