good price, but be aware that the 2nd-gen is $150 on Amazon right now

I also see that ebay has a 2nd-gen for $135, so combine that with CRUISEN2SUMMER for $15-off-$75 and you've got the newer model for $20 more.

With the second generation Scarlett series coming out, we should see more discounts on the first.

According to one of the Amazon reviews, there's not much difference between the two. Just some cosmetic changes.

EDIT: Nevermind, they improved the latency and upped the sampling to 192khz.

curious if someone can help a noob. Got a pair of JBL LSR305s from a previous deal, and they are great; however they get some static/EMI because my PC mobo is amped internally.

I have currently:

1. HD598s
2. JBL LSR305 pair
3. will probably get a mic at some point.
4. MIDI Controller

Would like something ideally i can plug all of these in at the same time, and switch between as needed (or at least the two audio devices). Would the 2i4 be more ideal or the 2i2?

Also anyone know how this compares to other options like Behringer or Steinberg?

Should be able to plug in everything there except the midi controller as this line doesn't have a midi port until you get to the 2i4 model, I personally have the 6i6 model and its been great. Awesome preamps on the mic ports for the money. As far as Behringer and Steinberg I'm not sure as I've only had Presonus stuff before owning my 6i6 but from the research I've done FocusRite has some of the best interfaces in this price range.

Listen, I had the exact same issue as you with the exact same speakers. Despite the advice of the Internet, getting a Focusrite will NOT actually fix your static issues.

What you need is a PYLE-PRO PHE400 Hum Eliminator. Should only be about 20 bucks or so on Amazon. Also need a 2 x 1/4" to 3.5mm cable so you can hook up both speakers to the hum eliminator and the hum eliminator to your 3.5mm output on your sound card. (Well I'm assuming you're using the standard audio jack on the sound card, disregard cable advice if you're not.)

Trust me on this.

The 2nd gen isn't using metal knobs any longer. Would try to cannibalize them off an old unit and switch them out.

I have the first gen in front of me. It has plastic gain knobs and the other two are metal-y (might also be plastic).

As far as I can tell, the second gen now has metal gain knobs. I would imagine the others are as well.

i was reading a review on Amazon and they stated that it went from metal to plastic. I'm going off of that review--they have pictures as well. Haven't seen them yet.

Yeah I saw that, but everywhere else says they switched to metal gain knobs.

Love this brand. I got the little sister Scarlett solo when it came out. This one is a good deal if you can't get the newer
