Hello:

Right now my money is being held hostage by paypal as they review my account. I assume they will unfreeze it with the paper work I provided them, but given Paypal is most likely trying to take my funds for 180 days to make interest revenue, I want to be prepared for them being a dumb company and suspending my account.

So I know I can't lose my paypal balance and they have to remit it eventually-- anyone have experience with what happens to your ebay bucks? Every time I try to buy something off ebay I get: "We can’t process your PayPal payment." So my $500 of ebay bucks is lost? Seems like incentive to suspend my account even more.

Also, are't these two separate companies now? They sure don't act like they are.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

thing is .. you cannot use ebay bucks if you are not paying via paypal. Ebay has exclusive contract with paypal for special payments which benefits both consumers and company by giving returns in form of coupons and ebay bucks and processing payments via paypal exclusively.

$500 in ebay bucks???
The base percentage to earn ebay bucks is 2% of your spending; unused ebay bucks expire at the end of the quarter. So you spent $25,000 on ebay last quarter?
Lie much?

OP I am sorry this happened to you. PayPal and eBay are the scum of ecommerce. They banned my account permanently even after providing all the paper work. They are literally the worst company to deal with. If you google PayPal/eBay suspension you'll see thousands of people on forums. I hope they release your money but just know they'll try to keep it

Thank you for your helpful reply. I have checked into others stories. It seems most people get their balances in 180 days. Anyone have experince with not getting their funds after their "hold" period?

I agree that they are one of the worst companies out there to deal with. Ill sell the few shares I have of their stock. Ill park that money in a company that knows how to treat their high revenue users.

You'll definitely get the money but have to wait 6 months is the part that sucks

for the ebay bucks, maybe try to open a new paypal just to use the ebay bucks but beware, they will 'hold' the payment if you immediately start buying with a new account. so just open it and leave it for a while before using it to send payments.
