Hey there.. I need help choosing a living room tv... I have an old 60" plasma that has a couple lines showing up down the middle of it... I really want to go WAY BIGGER, but simply can't afford the 75" OLED offerings ($20K+ I believe)...

I kind of want the 75"... but then everyone is raving about OLED technology...

what is the better deal? Assuming they are both about the same price
$2904 for the 75" Samsung LED - part # UN75JU7100)
$2880 for the 65" LG OLED - part # 65EG9600

Please help me decide one way or the other... Smilie

I'd recommend finding some place you can compare a 75 and 65 in person, perhaps a costco.. even better if the 65 is an OLED.

IMHO those two sizes aren't a large enough difference to make the OLED sacrifice worth it so I would go with the OLED, but that's just my 2 cents... I'm a quality over quantity kind of guy for the most part though.

A third option: if your room/house permits it, and you really want size, then there is no substitute for a good projector and a decent screen, but you wont get 4k at that price unfortunately.

That OLED was recently $2,500 (and some got Best Buy to price match and include a wall mount and $300 gift card), so definitely wait for a better deal to come back along if you want the OLED.

65" is the sweet spot right now for quality, affordable TV's, and the OLED is guaranteed to have the better picture quality, so I think most would say go for that.

Thanks guys... I'm thinking the same... I'm definitely interested in quality.. all of the OLED reviews are pretty amazing... thank you for the info.. the more I read I think I want the 65" flat screen OLED though - does that one ever go on sale? I'm hanging this on the wall - afraid the curve will look weird.. plus we have some off center seating in the room.
