For HD movies to own, this is a good deal, but I prefer to own the physical media and many of these movies have been around $5 on Bluray in the past.

Now it could be worth buying some of these for $5 if they do not have Bluray releases yet and are not available on Vudu as part of the Disc 2 Digital program for $2.50.

Does anyone know if any of the movies on this list are not available on Bluray and/or Vudu in HD?

Thanks, I've always wanted Prince of Egypt in HD. One of my favorite movies ever! Great original music, dynamic voice acting, and a true Biblical adventure brought to life thoughtfully and powerfully by Steven Spielberg. 5 stars!

You can find a lot of these movies cheaper from sellers on uvspider (link [uvspider.com]). Plus they're UV copies, which is more useful for most people unless you're deeply tied into the Amazon infrastructure.

Same thing here, with data caps and slow downloading speeds, I prefer the physical media.

I think Steven Spendberg was not the directory but just a producer on it which doesn't mean much these days (he signs the checks and gets to influence it... but only if he wants to).

I guess that one doesn't exist on Bluray either.

That's good to know. Since I have it on DVD, the question is whether it's available as a DVD to HDX upgrade on Vudu's Disc to Digital which is only $2.50 instead of $5.

Right, except in my case it's just the data caps as I have at least 50 Mbps downloads (maybe even 100 Mbps - I can't remember). It's plenty fast for me. On top of that most Blurays hit $5 after a couple years, and I don't trust any company, even Amazon or Vudu, not to lose rights to a movie at some point and take it away. I hope that never happens but having a physical disc in my hand will always be better.

That said, buying these $5 HD movies to own makes sense if there is no Bluray release yet and you can't get it cheaper with Disc to Digital on Vudu. It would be highly cool if someone posted a list of which movies fit into that category. Sorry, I don't have time to do it myself now as I have to go to prison... I mean work... soon, but if this deal lasts through the weekend then maybe.

Thanks OP! Repped - one small nit to pick - "Far From the MADDING Crowd," not "Far From the Maddening Crowd." Just, well, it's one of my favorite novels as well as movie Smilie
