The near future.

The Solarus Corporation discovered an infinite source of rare and precious minerals deep in the red crust. Resources that will end the energy crisis on Earth and fuel the deep space expeditions planned as population swells beyond capacity.

Constructing magnificent surface bases, Solarus. early mining endeavors resulted in returns of wealth beyond measure. Delving deeper they installed new facilities and recruited more adventurous technicians and operators seeking to expand their empire.

Then, one day, Mars went silent.

Cut off from their people, Solarus sent new recruits to continue operations and restore communications. You are such a recruit and with Mars growing closer by the hour, you sense that all is not right on the Red Planet.

Can you uncover the mysteries of Mars or will her secrets be your undoing?

Set on Mars in an alternate Cold-War era, Super Motherload is a 1 to 4-player couch co-op digging adventure with storyline by Image Comics' Kurtis Wiebe, a fully voiced cast of Soviet and American characters, and a procedurally-generated world that changes each time you play. Purchase powerful upgrades and supplies for your mining pod as you progress and prosper, as well as rare special abilities with random availability.

You, the player, work for Solarus Corporation, an inter-planetary mining operation that has developed the infrastructure needed to harvest the precious resources of Mars to meet demand back on Earth. Soon after being dropped on Mars, you begin to discover that things aren't quite as they seem.

Basic Gameplay

Players collect minerals beneath the surface of the planet, and then return to the surface to sell these minerals at a Mineral repair depot. The core of the game revolves around making trips deep into the ground and returning to the surface to sell, repair, refuel and upgrade your digging apparatus for increased efficiency and profit. Subterranean Facilities beneath the surface allow the player to perform functions such repairing, refuelling, selling minerals, upgrading and buying items.

i loved this game. But tried to play it multiplayer and hated it.

Thomas Was Alone IS great as everyone has said. That said, it's short enough that this is a perfect price for it. Kind of short, but so worth it!

I honestly wouldn't have known about this game had it not been a PS Plus freebie. Good game and doesn't take up much hard drive space.

I think these are both "semi" price matches from Amazon on select items from the PSN sale. Unless you have Amazon credits to use up, I always say "go straight to the source". In fact, even if you have Amazon credits, you can use those on a PSN card and then buy from PSN.
