Google Hoka and Ultra Runners. Knee injuries are not related to the cushioning amount, it's related to the heel toe drop ratio. Over 6mm and you're putting more effort into the knee than calf. Majority of non-runner shoes are in the 12-16mm range. Hoka tends to be around the 6mm.

I ran 103 miles continuously in a pair of Hokas last year, no knee issues here.

the clifton 2s gave me hot spots that would eventually become blisters. do not recommend. hoka really screwed this one up. not an upgrade at all over the clifton 1s.

I run nearly every day. I got plantar fasciitis and was looking for something to allow me to keep training. I switched to these shoes and kept running...it went away. I did this while training for my first 50 mile ultra. I like this model because it's super light. Only real bad thing about these shoes is that because they are so soft they wear faster and they are expensive. My last three pair I've bought used off Ebay.

Everyone is different. I used to wear ASICS exclusively. But now that I'm 41 my body needs something softer. They work for me and I haven't had any issues with my knees. I weigh 160 lbs and I'm 5'7".

Oh yeah... George is is getting upset!

I bought some hokas a while back. the toe box is too small and they wear out fast. they're very cushy but the toe box being so narrow, the expensive prices, and the fact that they don't last very long makes these hard to recommend.

nike is not the best for running. these shoes are amazing and feel great. its like seeing someone with nike golf clubs while the other guy has mizuno blades.
