Edit-And weird, I just added it to my cart again and now it's showing available for shipping but no pickup but at $44.97. I was likely seeing the in store price locally but YMMV on if it's reproducible.

Edit Edit- Definitely big YMMV. Sorry if anyone got their hopes up, was showing available for shipping and pick up at that price when I posted.

Lowe's has the Hitachi 4-1/2-in 6-Amp Trigger Switch Corded Angle Grinder G12SR3 on sale through 8/24/16 for $34.98 with the regular listed as $49.97. Extremely well rated on both Lowe's and Amazon and comes with five grinding wheels and a hard case which are a nice bonus.

Includes:
Grinder
Wheel guard
Side handle

5 abrasive wheels

The power should be fine for most jobs but I'd suggest looking into a grinder with a paddle-style power switch or a "rat tail" type.

They just called me and this is definitely YMMV because it is the older model. Price should have been a give away. Still may be YMMV of you have local stock. Amazingly they actually offered to substitute the new model for me so that's a minor miracle.

They ended up giving me the G12SR4 when I went to pick it up. Doesn't seem to be appreciably different other than not having a pile of positive reviews so hopefully it lives up to my hopes for the model I ordered. The few Amazon reviews on that one seem mostly positive though not liking the switch style comparatively,

I have one of these and went through two bathroom remodels. It gets hot grinding motor off the floor with a diamond wheel, and yes, the switch tends to stick. But overall I've been happy

Dfuq...a grinder for a bathroom reno!?? You did it all wrong!
I have used a grinder with diamond wheel to remove mortar remnants after chipping old tile off of a slab. Do you know of a better option?

Thanks OP. Been wanting one of these things for awhile, but haven't pulled the trigger. Seems like one of those tools that will come in handy. Price is decent, and case and extra blades are just a bonus so I'm going for it. Let's see if it's in stock...

edit: Cool. 2 available at $35. Placed an order. Hopefully it will go through.

edit2: Guess not. Just got notice that the item isn't in stock. Sucks. Oh well.

Spent 35 mins with instore pickup. Unbelievable. They gave me a g12sq instead of the g12sr3. When I asked them what gives they said it was the same item # in their system. BTW this g12sq does not have a carrying case or 5 extra pads.
