Can I use Walgreens gift card to buy other kind gift card in the store?

I have not been shopping at Walgreens for a long time. It is not worthy the trouble dealing with these people work at Walgreens even with money making deals.

But I have like $800 worthy of Walgreens gift cards. Just wonder if I could use to buy other store such as Sears, JCP gift cards or gas cards to use them up.

But the card stated:

You can redeem Walgreens Gift Cards at any Walgreens store for any merchandise (even prescriptions and photofinishing).

I think gift card is included as merchandise. Confused

It works fine if it was one of those Gold cards from the old ESR program. You are free to spend those on anything in the store as you please including booze, cigs, and gift cards.

If it is a Red "W" card, then they restrict those above purchases. The "W" card is what is given for credit on returns.

It is ok to buy a GC with a GC as long as it is not the red W card...just not to buy a GC with a RR

I do it all the time, no problem. As said above, just do not do it with the "W" card that is given for credit on returns.

yeah don't do that, it can lock up their registers, i can also tell you about 5 other ways to lock up their registers

Mine are not W-card, they are Walgreens gift card.

I went to a Walgreens store this afternoon, the manager refused to let me use them to buy some Best Buy gift card. He said he can not let me do the "money laundry", and I was so shocked by his rudeness. Mad Should I call Corp. about him??

This year I am tired of different stores with different issues. I went to CVS, so much easier and made a lot friends there.

After Walgreens store manager (most time they are not even real managers) told me all kinds of c**p (RR does not print becuase of coupon usage, you can only use 1 coupon per transit, you can not use mfr & walgreens coupon on same item, you can only do 1 RR per transit, etc), I just do not want to waste my time there anymore.

I only tried to buy $50 Chili gift card today and was told I am "money laundry" already - how much fun!!

I missed old time Walgreesn with their rebate program.
