Yeah, I saw this deal on eBay, however I decided not to purchase it from there because of any return issues if the computer has a defect. Tax for some is the only downfall.

Apple products hardly have issues and if they do, you can take it to an apple store and get it fix or repels under warranty
This sale from ebay has one year warranty and comes in brand new sealed box. Mine arrived yeaterday...sealed

I have had some issues, specifically dead pixels. Good to know about taking it to Apple, I didn't know I could do that as it is bought from eBay. I thought that the 1 year warranty might not always work because it was purchased from a third party source or it is past the 1 year since purchase (assuming Apple counts the original purchase when the seller purchased it and not when you purchased it from eBay) because the seller is not an Apple authorized re-seller and doesn't report to Apple when it is re-purchased such as Best Buy or B&H Photo & Video does.

I understand your dilemma. But apple products carry it's own warranty. You just have to register in the website and get 1 year warranty from the day you register
