I just had to post this after my last post on Slickdeals.

This is the lowest price it's ever been. It's $240-$250 elsewhere.

$199.99 + $6.14 shipping -$30 rebate = $176.14

Shipping is free with Premier, making it $170AR.

Agreed, although people have to realize that they make the full spectrum of motherboards. Most known brands try to stick with middle to high-end motherboards, but ASRock makes low, mid, & high end boards. They are often judged too harshly as a brand because people expect miracles out of the cheapest boards they sell...

"This $25 motherboard feels cheap and doesn't overclock well. It only has 2 RAM slots and the rear I/O plate is too easily bent. I am never buying ASRock again!"

That said, I've never had an issues with one of their boards after building with them on more than a dozen occasions. I've never used one of their higher-end boards like this, but even their mid-grade boards tend to be feature-rich compared to others in their price range, and i can't knock the build quality in any of them. Well, the low-end boards are a bit thin and flexible, but I have realistic quality expectations, Once it's installed with all components, flexibility doesn't matter...

I can only imagine these higher-end boards are built like tanks.

Seems like a beast of a motherboard.

But, it seems like overkill for what I need. It supports 4-way AMD Crossfire and Nvidia Quad-SLI, even though I'm probably only ever going to run a single Nvidia GPU at any one time.

Can anyone say if the Realtek ALC1150 onboard audio is okay? I want to say there's an Intel audio chipset that produces a higher sound quality. I've got to say, though, the max over clock of 6998.9 MHz that the board is claiming looks really appealing. I don't think I'll be able to find any single-GPU motherboards that will be able to reach a max overclock that high.

Either way, it's an interesting find. Thanks for posting it here.

This is a high end mobo so your average end user will have no need for this. It's geared more towards specialized server buildouts like a nas/transcoding server

Would this be wasted on a single GPU? Pairing this with the I7-6700k would be pretty sweet, but I don't think I would get more than a couple GPUs.

Anyone have any thoughts on this board? It seems like a decent deal but I'm not too familiar with the Z170 toys yet to trust my own judgment...

Used ASRock for years, and on several machines. Dependable parts and highly customizable Bios.

Well after deliberating/reading reviews I decided to pull the trigger. New question: Did anyone have trouble accessing the rebate page? I clicked the link on the rebate pdf provided by newegg but it's giving me a server error =.=

this board looks pretty sweet. However if I'm going to spend $200 I'm going to buy a x99 boatd. This is very tempting though.

A board that supports Quad SLI is geared toward NAS/Plex server builds, neither of which require or rely on graphics cards at all?

Eurominican, could you do me a favor and let me know if you have issues accessing the rebate registration web page? (I've tried multiple browsers and it's still not loading properly...I wonder if the page just hasn't been set up yet)

I was able to download the rebate form but the link inside of it says the following:
