Thread Details

I missed out on the lowes and Amazon deal for the WD1000WF for 228 and was bummed. This one is the HD950WF and it appears to have all the goodies. I tired to compare the two models on the chamberlain site but the mobile site only compares like four things so they appear to be very similar. If anyone can check this at a desktop that would be great since I just bought two and don't want to have to return them of its missing something I really want. B&M only it appears. Not sure if it's ymmv

1.25 hp
Belt drive
Battery backup
Built in MyQ wifi

It's listed as 268 online but in store it was marked down from 268 to 228 with no sale sign or anything

Is that really a good deal? Still seems kinda high.

I thought the same but it was very popular at this price in the other thread, which seems to have disappeared.

For some people, this isn't an item they can wait around for. When you need one you need one so its worth knowing about a decent price on one.

Was just at the local Home Depot and saw it marked at this price as their "new lower price".

I bought this. I was hoping to pick this up for less than $200, but it's getting hot and I want to pack my car in the garage. The logic board on my old opener was dying, so my remote only works sporadically. Plus my opener uses the 390 MHz frequency, and it Chamberlain switched to 315 Mhz over 10 years ago when the military started using a LMRS in the 380 to 400 MHz band.

I like this model because it has wi-fi. Seems that being able to use my phone to open my garage door would be useful. I want to wait to see if Chamberlain rolled out home automation support, like Apple HomeKit compatibility.

Also, the
HD950WF, LW9000WF, WD1000WF are all the same models. HD = Home Depot, LW = Lowes, and WD = other retailers. I suspect they do this to prevent price matching. The only other model that had wi-fi is the HD750, which lacks the battery backup and it 3/4 horsepower. Honestly I don't see the battery being useful, because we don't have power outages often. I can't remember any for the past 4 years. And I wonder how much trickle charging is going to add to the power bill. Plus batteries go bad after a few years, and door openers last for over 10.
