Any alternatives/suggestions? Need to buy another phone for the 60+ aged inlaws, and I prefer Samsung due to easy support.

I can pay up to $150 for a good phone that they can use, they've been using S2 for over 2,5 yrs and they are happy.

Just got the LG G3 for $139 (new - other; came in with stickers on it everywhere and original LG charger). Excellent phone and my mom (she just moved from Galaxy S 3) is having no trouble using. Screen is big enough to see and the overall phone size is the same as Galaxy S5.

Ed: Search here, if interested, and you will see the thread. Says expired but that is for the $15off coupon that made is $124. Still available at $139.

Thanks.
Is she OK with total lack of physical buttons? I know my mom liked S2 because of 4 physical buttons and with S3+ center hard button is very handy.

Where is LG G3 for $139?

Yes she has been fine so far. There are 3 physical buttons (power/wake, volume up and down) in the back instead of being in the front. I think she finds that location to be more convenient based on the way you hold the phone.

Here is the link to the thread (note that the $15 coupon has expired so now it is $139)

Here is the direct link to the seller (same seller as mine) and it came in perfectly new condition.

Thanks, I'll browse the sellers other phones as well. I still steer towards Samsung just because of it's popularity, she'll be using it overseas so it's easier for others to help with things too, not just software, but for hardware issues as well.

PS: I used LG G2 for a bit less than a year, and I loved that phone. Feels so much more premium than samsungs.

Thanks, but what is this based on? Is there a similar phone at that price?
It looks like this is J series, with a made up name Galaxy Express Prime. J series have several models and some of them actually retail about $170.

I guess people on SD always compare these values to ebay or other deals, while I totally understand there is huge value in those deals like the LG G3 shwet7uc mentioned above, but if you want to buy brand new and not risk dealing with battery issues or seller issues, these seem to be really solid deals.

People said the Note 3 deal from Walmart was not worth it, but I got it for wife at $230 brand new. Now people are jumping on used Note 4 deals for similar price. Personally I rather get a model below brand new than model above used. In case of this vs LG G3, it's no comparison, LG G3 is top of the line and this is mid-range (not really budget value).

Well, just missed this samsung deal, it's back up to $130 now.
When I looked at specs again, it looks pretty good.

ZTE is not really considered a mainstream phone. It's nice, but I consider it in line with Blu which is also budget, no matter how much you pay, the quality is not really there. The other issue with ZTE is you won't be able to get support by just taking it to a random store overseas and expect them to be familiar.

Anyway, I guess I should have bought this one, keep it in wrapper until day before inlaws leave, in case I find a better deal. Otherwise, I'll try to watch this. By the way, I noticed J3 has 1GB ram, but this J3 model has 1.5GB Ram. Not bad actually.

ZTE is on the world top list telecoms equipments supplier, World No.1 CDMA telecom equipment manufacturer .
Their US support center is located Plano , TX.
People barely needs direct support from manufacturer nowadays.
You can always pay more for the low end Samsung phone, it is still a foreign company
