After waiting for review comes up for the RX 480, looks like the reference design isn't really the way to go, and I can't wait for the AIB release because I sold my good old 280x for 220 couple days ago. So I decided just go for 1070 and found this deal on jet.

I don't know how long this will last, as for other 1070 and rx 480 deal there, it all got clean up pretty fast.

Here is the link to the Asus STRIX 1070 on jet.com [jet.com]

for $475 is defiantly above what newegg is currently asking for which I think is around 459
But if you apply the usual 15% off coupon / waive shipping / pay with debit etc
you can bring the price down to $428, or $445 if you just use the coupon.

Now, this may not be that hot of a deal for folks that can or have already pre-order the card from Amazon in one of those no amazon tax states. But for us in CA, we are pretty much out of no tax options when it comes to major online vendor that sells videos cards. ( BHphoto maybe another one, but their availability sucks and price is rip off also ), so the newegg and amazon card all comes to close to $500 for us.

and yes this is higher than MSRP, but which gtx 1070 isn't lol. For what the STRIX can offer vs the rip off FE edition, I think this is pretty reasonable for at least CA folks.

when I ordered mine it said ships within 3-5 business days, I don't know how accurate that will be since some folks pre-ordered from amazon are getting messages saying their card won't ship till mid ~ late july.

Also swagbucks actually have what it seems to be 5% CB on jet.com now. The term there is a bit fuzzy, so I am not sure if it will actually go through or not, but if that works out, it's another 20 bucks off.

Good luck hunting.

Make sure it fits in your case. The 1070 are like around 11" while the RX 480 is around 9.5".

Is there any reason this isn't a good deal? Comes out to $445 when using a debit card and after coupon

Bought this last night, it's the same price as Newegg right now because Newegg is charging 5 dollars shipping. But with the SHOP15 or TRIPLE15 codes along with waiving free return shipping and applying a debit card if you want, this is a good deal IMO. The specs seem to put this card at a higher OC level than the EVGA FTW edition who's base price will also be $470. Paid $435 without debit card.

Don't use your %$(*($%^**(^ debit card to buy something this expensive. You will be up sh*t creek if something goes wrong. The 1.5% is not worth it.

Agreed... for a $400+ purchase, don't use anything but a credit card. Also, that 1.5% discount is really .5% because with almost all cards, you get 1% back for all of your purchases.

Which model is the best? Should I get this one for $445 or wait for a better deal?

5% amazon cashback for a few credit cards so that covers part of the tax.
If I wasn't blocked from jet I'd still consider this deal

I don't quite understand the debit card discount thing.

Isn't it different depending on the bank you're using?

Or is this a Jet thing?

By the way, waiving free return is $10 off, so it's $434 without the debit thing.

With the rx 480 undercut and the impending 1060 release, there's going to be a bloodbath in the video card price market once the availability/stocking issues disappear, and that's already looking to be happening.

I have an msi 1070 and its a great card, but I'm looking for a second card to go into an older i7 system. I think within 3 weeks we'll see some tasty cards for under 200 up to 250, like a 980ti OC, the revamped 480 with an 8 pin connector and some overclock, and the 1060. 970 and 980 OC's will be basically dirt cheap until the stock runs out and I'm also looking for a $70-something 950 or 960 for an htpc.

Keep your powder dry unless you absolutely need it right now...

The cheapest one you can find. They all overclock about the same. Power phases and additional power plugs don't seem to affect the 10 series.

Thanks got one in CA for a total of $445 using my Citi card, which gives me an extra two years of warranty on electronics and 90 days price rewind if found cheaper elsewhere.

I would not use a debit card, unless that's the only form of payment you, but recommend using a card that offers price protection and extended warranty over the savings that using a debit card offers. Over the last 5+ years, I have gotten back hundreds of dollars when electronics have broken down within the extended warranty timeframe.
