We have this humidifier and have enjoyed it so far. Free prime shipping. Reviews are good.
We paid $19 for it last time, this is the cheapest I have seen it.

how do you guys clean humidifiers? I got mine from Costco and every 1 to 2 weeks it takes me 30 minutes to get rid of a little gunk and black moldy buildup in the nooks and crevices on the bottom part. The tank remains clean and I have to barely clean it, but the bottom gets pretty bad looking in a week to a fortnight.

Have you tried using filtered or distilled water?

the reason that vinegar works is because it's an acid. what you're trying to clean is the calcium buildup that's put there by tap water. an acidity inhibits the precipitation of calcium and keeps it in solution.... now for the interesting part... ocean acidification is a real problem. ocean acidification is the evil twin of global warming. the reason we haven't felt that much effect from global warming is because the ocean has been eating up the extra CO2. the extra CO2 in the ocean turns into carbanic acid. and therefore increases the acidity of the ocean. an acidic ocean prevents shellfish from forming shells. while this sucks for people who love shellfish, this also sucks for larger life in the ocean. shellfish creates A LOT of babies and these babies are one of the major food building blocks of all life on the ocean
