While Windows 10 may have some security features built in, I still recommend extra protection.

Good News! Does not require activation, just register for Rebate online with McAfee. Best way to use up NE promotional GCs.

He says in a thread about McAfee of all things. This is considered borderline malware itself by professionals.

I only purchased Mcafee from Tiger Direct when they were giving away free stuff with it after rebate.... I miss those days....

If you don't want to wait for a rebate these are $4 on Amazon. The 2015 year it's labeled doesn't matter since you just download the newest version either way and get a years worth.

No, loading McAfee malware, bloatware, and ransomware on your computer is an incredibly stupid move.

While Macafee is poorly rated historically, Windows defender is the worst of the bunch and generally laughed at in the industry. it is better than nothing, but that is as far as it goes. It is a free country, but not spending the generally < $10 a year per PC when on sale to get a decent internet security product is just not wise imo. And while one can debate what IS product is the best, the general consensus has been that Norton, BitDefender and Kaspersky are the top 3.

For those who may still be interested in getting this, it looks like the deal is still alive. Don't know why it was marked as expired unless it was OOS earlier.
