. . . wut?
I own a machine with DDR3 RAM. Tell me again why I would want to "go Skylake" and switch out all my components for ten times the cost of this?

it being a "pro" and ddr4-2400 is some seriously twisted shit, and believe it or not, some people actually pay for this. it's kind of like paying to watch your uncle fark your sister's best friend's nephew's goat. i mean, it's disgusting as fark, and probably can't be justified, and they know what they're getting themselves into, but they still buy into it. IDK what to tell ya, but, good for you.

If you are going to build, don't bother with DDR3. This is mostly for existing systems.

why not bother with DDR3? It's completely functional and great performance for someone wanting a budget gaming desktop. What is everyone's fascination with getting the latest and greatest like 4K tvs? DDR4 IS OVERKILL - 99% of users won't gain any value from using DDR4 as opposed to DDR3

new platforms don't support ddr3... and ddr4 prices are trailing ddr3 prices. no point in using older tech.

...i do find it funny that the DDR3 sticks would most likely outperform the DDR4 sticks

There wasn't a reason to build a ddr4 build before because of the high prics,, but since now the prices are more reasonable there is not reason to build a ddr3 build instead of ddr4. When you build a PC you need to think about the future, if you build a 1150 system now, by the time you want to upgrade your PC component's will lost their value

Very good price for current tech memory. Loads of computers that might benefit from upgrade. Now, if you are savvy, you can grab this moment to build modern computer cheaply. It may be an old tech, but it will work more than good enough for a quite a while
