Sacred 3 is currently on sale for 93% off on Amazon.com, totaling $3.74. In reality, while the game sells for $50 normally on amazon, the price has dropped to $15 normally on Steam, so only a 75% saving. This is the lowest historic recorded price, and equivalent to the price available during the Steam summer sales.

While the game is rated "Mostly Negative" on steam, the main reasons for this are two fold.

First, the price tag was $50 when it first came out. While the graphics boast the value of $50 game, the remainder of the game is not worth that much. Probably the $15 price tag is more appropriate.

Second, the game is more of a sequel to Sacred Citadel, but is marketed as a sequel to Sacred 1 and 2. This is extremely important to fans of the original Sacred series, and would be not quite as bad as saying Street Fighter is a sequel to Diablo. So, it's got some terrible reviews, but for only $3.74, it seems more than fairly priced for a sequel to Sacred Citadel.

This game might have some of the worst reviews I've ever read. Goodness.

I'm pretty sure this was part of a humble bundle recently.

Oh wow. Yep, a couple months ago. Was in the $1 tier, even. I missed that one.

Yes, back in May Sacred 3 Gold was in the $1 tier along with Dead Island GOTY, Risen 1 and 2, and Saints Row 2. I have missed many SD deals in my life, but I rarely miss front page deals (which I think this was) if they last a full week like Humble Bundles do.

It's a matter of expectations. The game is fine, but it's not at all worth $50. It's not a keyboard/mouse game, it's a controller game with local co-op. It's not really an rpg, it's an overhead beat-em up. It doesn't play like a sequel to Sacred 1 or 2, but a sequel to Sacred Citadel. It just isn't at all what the fans wanted, and it's not really what you'd expect from a sacred game, and it's not really worth what they originally asked for it.

The script is horrifically poorly written. The voice acting is... an acquired taste, but I won't straight up call it bad.

The negative reviews may be warranted for a $50 game, but not at the 3.75 price range. It's not an amazing game, but it's a fun local-coop beat-em up flick.

It's fun for what it is. Not the best price, but definitely worth $5 and under.

Will wait for the inevitable Humble Bundle inclusion, if I don't already have it in my Steam library, that is Stick Out Tongue

Another game where the originals enjoyed a big fanbase, and someone completely changed the gameplay for some reason then scratched their heads when fans revolted. Get rid of the loot, open world exploration and RPG leveling system and dumb it down so it works on consoles with controllers then stick the "Sacred 3" name on it, hoping to cash in on the name alone.

I think that's exactly why the reviews are all so negative. Perhaps the developers deserve it. The game itself doesn't seem so bad... definitely not worthy of the Sacred 3 name, and definitely not worth full price... even the $15. But a fun flick for less than 4 bucks.

This posting makes me feel really sad because it reminds me of how great 2 was.

RIP Sacred....

It was a GWG a few months back. I only played a few minutes into it before moving on to more substantial fare. It's getting harder and harder to compete with really involved titles like Fallout 4, Witcher 3, Dying Light, Etc. I may not have given it the fairest shake but it seemed pretty boring at the intro.
