Opium Pulses has Windows 10 Professional keys on sale again. Currently for $19.70, but looks price is floating up and down a little.

I bought two of these on a previous SlickDeal (linked below). I was looking at it today because I just finished successfully installing Windows 10 Pro from one of the keys I bought last time. A little more expensive this time around, but a good deal nonetheless

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

FWIW, I followed the directions from Microsoft:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/s...windows10/

I dl'd the media creation tool, saved it to a thumb drive (need at least 3gb, will wipe the thumb drive), and then booted onto an old desktop I had. Just remember if you set it to boot from USB first, you have to remove the USB after initial install or it'll keep taking you to the install software after the first restart. Took me 3 restarts to realize this...

why roll back unless u have 7 or 8 installed already which would mean you get 10 free and that you can roll back

Your windows 7/8 key isn't converted to a 10 key until after the rollback window has expired.

You are absolutely, 100 percent wrong.

To clarify, in order to transfer your copy of Windows 10 to a new PC, assuming you have a retail license of Windows 7/8.x, you must first install Windows 7/8.x on the new PC, then perform a new upgrade on that PC. If this happens after the 1 year upgrade period is over, the Activation servers will know that your old license has already been upgraded and re-activate the new upgrade.

I am still on Vista! I guess it would be a less expensive route to upgrade to W7 Pro and then upgrade to W10 Pro. I had a free upgrade to W7, but waited too long. I was concerned with driver compatibility at the time.

not saying a NEW PC he was stating rolling back I replied why would you need this if your already running 7 or 8 when you can get it free.. sure if you built a PC that needed a key here you go. Other wise as long as you upgraded in the first year period you can return to 10 on that particular machine at anytime..

What does this mean:
NOTE 2: THIS KEY WILL NOT WORK ON THE MICROSOFT "DOWNLOAD WINDOWS 7 DISC IMAGES (ISO FILES)" PAGE. IT MUST BE USED DURING INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS 7 OPERATING SYSTEM ONLY AND WILL NOT ACTIVATE AN ALREADY INSTALLED OPERATING SYSTEM.

So how do I get it on there if I can not use the downloaded disc images? Can I just use the key from my wife's computer to get the download?

It means what you think it means - won't let you download the iso using that key. I don't think that the OEM keys work. At least none that I've tried have. You'd need to come up with media for Win 7 some other way. No way to tell about your wife's other than to try it. It's just a key to get to the files. Doesn't tie anything in the download to that key.

OEM keys work with retail disc iso. You need to do phone activation though. Turn off network adapter, go to activate windows, choose other methods, and use the phone activation. I do this to install retail win 7 on my HP notebook with OEM key to easily debloat it.
