Just ordered one and waiting to test it out in preparation for my DIY artificial turf installation. My daughter and I tried with some Bully Tools square point shovel and Sod Lifter and couldn't get much work done, lol. It's time for some additional ammunition.

Dang it you beat me to posting this. It has been this price for about 3 days. I bought mine last week when Sears had it for $149 with $45 Sywr points. I combined it with E-Bates and my cash back from my cc and got free shipping.

Was going to rent one from Home Depot for $50/day, but now I can buy this one, use it for two days, then sell it on Craigslist. Thanks OP!

I have this thing and love it. I have ripped up grass from most of my yard with it in our quest to get rid of grass and plant things that produce food. It rips out softball sized rocks and larger with no problem and flings them. No smell of burning gas and unlike a gas powered one, this thing is lightweight enough that I can move it around as I need to across the area. I can pick it up one handed and carry it across the yard. Yes a gas powered one might be able to do some things better and if I had more than the 1/3 of an acre that we do I might want a larger one, but so far so good with this little electric baby.

I wish I had and used one of these things before reseeding an area for grass but better late than never. I will use it for seeding some new areas as well as down the road when i need to rip things out and replant. Tilling soil by hand is very hard work and something like this should help quite a bit. Thanks OP!

Anyone know how it compares to the Earthwise unit?

I have this model and it's awesome!! Used it to make a new garden. Tears through grass like nothing and kicks up baseball size rocks and larger . Very happy with it! Only drawback is the cord but just sling it over your shoulders. Just be sure to clean it after using as some dirt and weeds build up if wet. Probably used it over 15 times, no issues and is very light weight and compact.

Keep in mind you can purchase attachments for most gas trimmers that replace the front area with a cultivator. That might be a cheaper route if you're looking to save money. If you want electric, don't have a gas trimmer and don't want one, etc. this looks like a good deal and has good reviews.
