Hi this is a bit of a PSA and heads up about this new monitor that you can score for a very nice 20% discount if you start a chat with HP.com. It is a bit YMMV, but it should be easy to do. I was able to do the chat, and get a call back and make the purchase in under 10 minutes.

Anyways, this monitor is brand new, most retailers don't even have or know about it yet. It is a 32 inch WQHD monitor.

http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-...pla&ci_kw=

Native resolution
2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz
Contrast ratio
3000:1 static; 10000000:1 dynamic
Brightness
300 cd/m²
Pixel pitch
0.276 mm
Response time
7 ms gray to gray
Signal input connectors
2 HDMI (with HDCP support); DisplayPort 1.2 (with HDCP support)
Display Tilt & Swivel Range
Tilt: -5 to +21°
Dimensions (W X D X H)
29.1 x 7 x 20.6 in (with stand); 29.1 x 2.1 x 17.1 in (without stand)
Weight
21.56 lb (with stand); 18.04 lb (without stand)

In order to get this price, like I did, start a chat with HP on the product page, tell them you are interested in this monitor and that Amazon has it for $369.99 now and they are offering an additional $30 off on prime day so you were planning on buying it then. They will tell you they can have a sales rep contact you and then when the rep contacts you they will offer you a huge 20% discount on this brand new item! My final total was $340 after taxes.

Also, shipping is free and if you don't like the monitor you can return it free of charge as well.

Gotta love how HP is being evasive (insulting our intelligence) by calling the display technology "WVA."

Thanks for sharing! How was the 20% ($80) discount done - did the rep give you a coupon code for you place the order or you placed the order first and then they took $80 off your order? Amex is offering $50 credit on $250 spend and 5% cashback (SimplyCash card), so I can potentially get it for $254, which is a sweet deal.

The discount was done over the phone. They just told me they could give it to me for that price when i got a call back from a sales rep.

If that AMEX deal is like a statement credit done afterwards then you should get a pretty nice deal there.

Personally, I just got the monitor, but i am going to return it because it is a heavy matte screen and the image is not to my liking because of this coating, but hey, if you don't like it, FREE RETURNS

Thanks for the quick reply! You mentioned Prime day, which is when (in case hp asks)? I'm a bit hesitant because of your return, but if I can get it with the Amex credit, I'm going to give it a shot.

Well my return was based only on the fact that it was a matte monitor and I was told by customer support it was a glossy, even though I figured it was the same panel that has been going around the past couple of years, but again, free returns so no worries.

Enjoy the new monitor...if you are okay with matte, then you will love it. It is quite a good monitor for the price.

I'm chatting with hp right now. Could you elaborate on the $30 discount on Prime day? Thanks!

You get $30 off $150 or more when you use your Amazon visa card on Amazon.com during prime day

Since you are using Amex, you may not have this leverage.

Just like what you said, a rep will call me tomorrow and hopefully offer the same discount. Could you please explain more about Prime day in case he asks me. Thanks!

I see. I also have Amazon card, so that's what I'll tell the rep. Thanks for your help and repped!

Check your Amex, there is a 50 off 250 which can stack. Slick!

Placed multiple orders with amex $50 credits. The Amazon Prime price-match by wezlypipz is genious. Btw, love HP return policy.

For anyone still interested, I replicated the deal this morning. Asked to speak to a sales rep via chat, gave my name and phone number, and requested the 20% discount alluded to here. The rep agreed and processed the order with my AMEX card. Received an email regarding the $50 statement credit from $250+ HP order. Very excited to receive this monitor and set it up for my wife's desk. I hope it is worth the expense.

I tried this and it didn't work. The rep had somebody call me and he said they only matched prices of Amazon directly sold items.
