wouldn't this with Skylake support 4K media out to 4K tv?

1x Thunderbolt 3 (Full USB 3.1 Type C)
1x USB 3.0 (1x with power-off charging)
2x USB 2.0
1x HDMI with HDCP Support

must be a misprint somewhere. amazon feeback is confusing.
According to the documentation we show it has USB 3.1 Type C Gen 1 (Up to 5 Gbps) functionality, nothing noted about being Thunderbolt.

Its not real Thunderbolt 3, its 2 or 1 from reading the Amazon review questions; speeds at 5GB or 10GB not 40GB for T3.

The Costco given spec about Thunderbolt 3 is wrong, it is a normal USb 3.1 Type C Gen 1 Port. Found the detail review on Notebookcheck also:-

Thanks, saved me some trouble, I'm not with costco anyway. Hard to find TB in this price range, no wonder it was cheap. Mad

What's so good about thunderbolt and why do you guys need version 3?

Seems like a good deal.

Can it support 32 GB of RAM? (I love me some virtual machines, even when I travel).

Is it an M2 80 SSD? Will it support an NVMe upgrade?

It charges the laptop much faster, supports full, dual 4K output experience, transfers data much much much faster, etc. Pretty much the next generation of Thunderbolt 2. Thunderbolt 3 is like a god amongst the peasantry of 3.1.

This webpage doesn't list the exact model, but it appears similar models use M.2 SATA. http://laptopmedia.com/laptop-m-2...lity-list/

a good 4K TV will upscale but nothing like native 4K. Not a lot of 4K HDR out there so a lot of us are starved for content. Most of the population barely has enough bandwidth for it anyway. Having a HTPC laptop with Thunderbolt could feed your new 4K UHD with plenty of eye candy downloaded in advance.

I pre-ordered the new xbox one S for that very reason, local content, HDR, disc based media. But I'd also consider a good laptop if it had the same abilities. After all the PC and xbox is eventually merging. A lot could change in the meantime but I'm trying to future proof a bit.
