Rear car camera dvr? right side up instead of upside down mount, inconspicuous

misternopants 832 132 July 7, 2016 at 02:09 AM
Sorry if this has been asked before already but I got a DVR with rear camera but the camera only turns on if the brakes are on. And it's more work than I like to wire to the rear brake lights.

I just want a car camera that records the back. Except most front facing camera would need to be mounted upside down? And most front facing camera would be highly visible when used in the rear windshield. Ideas?

Thanks very much.

Why would it have to be mounted upside down?

You could re-connect power from your brake light to your tail lights & activate with the light switch

I would like it to be on all the time. So it would record everything towards the rear. I think some of the wires for front cameras are long enough. But for using a front camera in the rear, most a really visible.

Camouflage the camera in a teddy bear or other stuffed animal maybe kleenex box and proceed as you wish.
