Help me decide between 2 Laptops?

Dear SDers:

I bought the Dell Inspiron (i7, 4k Screen): $450 and the Lenovo Edge 2 (i7, 2 GB VideoCard): $530 form Bestbuy. Not sure which to keep.

I already have ~2.5 year old Dell i7, but reason to upgrade are: 2in1 feature, backlit KB, AC wifi, desire to have full HD screen, lighter weight.

Thoughts on which one to keep? TIA

I would lean toward the Lenovo but that is mostly due to liking a video card in my laptop. 2-1's are basically useless as tablets anyway.

Not a fan of the screen though, but good enough I guess.

How hard is it to upgrade the system to an SSD. Whichever one makes that easier - keep.

most laptops these days its easier. you may just to remove a screw or two and the hds removed.

Not necessarily true. Making things thin and light can mean engineering internal assemblies that are difficult to access. Cases can be difficult to open, requiring special tools and nerve. And I've seen setups where hard drive replacement requires disassembling the entire system and removing the motherboard to go to the hard drive. If I were in OP's position I would look for service manuals for both products and see how difficult it is to get in there and replace the drive. All other things being equal enough, once he puts a Slickdeals SSD in his new system it will be a screamer.

Update: Canceled the Dell (did not like the KB) and had to return the Lenovo. First Lenovo had a very warm screen and the second replacement one had a weird problem (the moment you pick up the laptop form a stable surface the screen went dark or the system rebooted. first was was listed as Open Box Excellent and second was Geek Squad certified. SO no luck, and waiting for the next deal Smilie

Disappointed as the Lenovo was the closest to my expectations.

An i7 is way overkill for what your listed. A modern i3 will easily do what you mentioned. You might even look at a chromebook if you can do without Windows or have windows in the house on another PC.
