I hope these manufacturers will start ignoring the minority insufferable whining about how 4K makes things too tiny for their geriatric eyesight, and finally delivers 4K IPS at 32" without price-gouging.

It might not be 4K but the PQ on these HP are great.

You can get this monitor for $320 plus tax if you follow the instructions I laid out in my thread.

http://slickdeals.net/f/8901935-hp-pavilion-32-inch-monitor-display-320-plus-tax-free-shipping-at-hp-com-ymmv?v=1&src=SiteSearch

It takes less than 10 mins.

Agreeing to the extent it's great to see this pricing pressure that will result in 4K IPS 32" monitors experiencing the same. The distance between 1080p and 1440p in terms of user experience at 32" is dramatically bigger than from 1440p to 2160p, so this is a great upgrade for most.

This isn't an IPS panel. It's a VA panel.

"HP does not disclose exact type of the panel that powers the Pavilion 32”, but confirms that this is a VA panel"

Thanks. I was about to jump on this if it were an IPS.

Unless I am missing something... can't you just set your monitor to a lower resolution? Why would this even be a problem? The only problem I see is getting rid of the cheaper monitors (like the 27" I am using right now-HP 27" 1080 $139.99) because they are NOT 4K and making me purchase a much more expensive one that is 4K when I do not require it.

You're making the case for all monitors to be 4K, especially since by now it costs hardly anything more to make (years-old tech). Agreed.

I may be able to get it for $254, following wezlypipz's instructions above, but with Amex $50 statement credit (off $250 spend) and 5% cashback. I'll update tomorrow.

OP, you need to change the title. You completely made up the IPS part.
