Now if this was the 4K model, then it'd be "open sesame" on my wallet Embarrassment

Any chance eBay Bucks might run a better offer than 2%?

That was mostly to clear out open boxes / display items.

1) that was in the past 2) more importantly, in store only (or if it was online it sold out super fast)

I agree not the best deal..this price is common now, but with no tax for some...and it actually being readily available, this isn't a bad deal either

I got one of these last time it was a daily deal at the same price. The picture quality is absolutely astounding.

With my viewing distance at more than 7 feet I believe that 1080p is a perfectly fine resolution for this 55" set.

Edit: Here's a fun tool for calculating your "ideal" viewing distance based on screen size and resolution:

Got one. BEST 1080p technology (oled) for the size. Anyone stupid enough to buy a 4k tv at under 60" in size is wasting their money. No difference in clarity for size/pixel ratio unless you're watching 2 feet away & counting pixels.

Best part: FREE SHIPPING & TAX FREE.

Both the Fry's near me only had display/open box when I checked, plus tax of course. Most would rather have a new one for a couple hundred more. Great deal for those who had it available.

I would like a lower priced OLED, so I'm keeping an eye out to see if this model drops any further, as it has been this price a few times now. Last year's 65 inch 4K OLED's are still in the $2,500-3,000 range, so the 1080p 55 inch is still the only affordable one for me.

if it's a 4k hdr capable tv it's not stupid.

HDR improves the image from any distance. Not a whole lot of HDR content yet though, so probably not worth the $400-600 premium to get a 4K HDR OLED at 55 inches.
