I was searching for a backpack for my 6th grader and found this pretty great deal at Costco, so I thought I'd share. I'm a member, so I'm not sure it will work for non-members. $4 manufacturer’s discount is valid 7/7/16 through 7/31/16. While supplies last.

I scrolled through several pages of backpacks on the High Sierra site and 19" x 13.5" x 8.5" seems to be in the standard range for all their backpacks - some of the wheeled ones are bigger.

Just looked at these for my kiddo for back to school - too big for him though. Loved the camo pattern for boys and the aqua pattern for girls. The straps were super padded and lots of utility compartments/hooks/etc. Very nice backpacks. My costco also had the hiking hydration backpacks on clearance in the remaining summer goods in the middle of the floor (slowly clearing these out to make room for the furniture event).

Same with a Costco Sierra hydrating pack from 5 years ago.

Recently pulled out backpacks from the attic from 1990. Nylon internals had powered but shampoo and direct dry in the sun brought everything back to life.

My son is using one now, pretty good. Got a new as back up for him in case the current one wears out.

Picked one up for my 5 yr old boy..... and it fits nice...big, but not overwhelming

my 7yr old girl had a version with the same size (but thicker)... She had typically destroyed a 'kids' backpack by mid-year but after a full year with her High Sierra it's still like new!

Looks like a nice pack for a decent price. Still use a High sierra small hydration backpack (don't use the hydration "bladder" anymore) daily - purchased probably 8 years ago. Been through lots of use at music fests, hiking, etc. over the years. Nylon material is very stout and holding up well (much more so than wal-mart or target brand "Outdoor products" which fall apart!). Zipper was finally coming apart from fabric, but stitched it up last week and it's still fine. Should be good for years to come.

I just bought this bag in store. I don't know much about backpacks but it seems really nice for the price.
