AVOID THIS!!! I have seen the warnings about FreedomPop for years and I ignored it. I purchased my mother a tablet, which arrived looking brand new. She babied that damned thing. It was never dropped, and was in a case the entire time. Looking at it now you would say it is less than a week old. She was sitting around 2 weeks ago playing Minecraft with me when the touchscreen stopped working. We tried everything, nothing worked. I rebooted, wiped, tried the recovery screen, nothing. The touches are not even registered.

Bad news is I am at day 111 of a 90 day warranty.

FreedomPops response? "Sorry, you are out of warranty, but call our sales agent and we will get you a new device right away!"

What perfect timing. It does 21 days past warranty. Now they can sell me another piece of junk that will fail right after the warranty and hope I keep up the cycle! I wonder if they wrote code into the ROM to force it to fail after 90 days.

I ignored it when I purchased this and the 5 guides I found showing you how to cancel the non-free services they sneak onto your bill were all wrong. The last 2 had been posted days before. Guess what, FreedomPop likes to move and hide and recolor their "remove service" links to be extremely hard to find, blend into the page or sometimes get hidden behind other items when you scroll. I sent a text to a friend describing where the remove link was and they tried in their account and said the link was in a different spot. I would guess they have it slightly randomized so that when you tell someone how to cancel and they cannot figure it out they give up and just start getting charged.

Sorry for this long winded post, but trust me. Pay more for an actual deal somewhere besides FP. You will pay more. You will not get more. You will very very likely end up upset and writing a bad review somewhere like most previous FP customers do.

Provide a link to the product please. If you tacked on the link to the wiki and expected people to rummage through 96 posts of garbage to find legitimate facts, you've severely underestimated your audience. If you didn't update it then I apologize, but from what I can tell this deal is no longer applicable.

Are you saying that when you click on "See Deal" it doesn't send you to the item's page? Every time I click on it takes me straight to freedompop website to purchase this tablet.

Confused

No, I think he's saying you haven't provided a direct link to the deal. The only interactive element I can see in your post is a "see more Freedompop deals and coupons" amongst which I do not see a pre-owned LG G pad.

Just add the link as requested and be done with it. Also, it's never a bad idea to indicate the price in your title.

Generally, the more coy you are with information the community needs to evaluate and/or replicate the deal, the less useful the post is perceived to be.

Thanks majorhavoc, I understand a bit better now. I've added a URL link in the top of the description. I've also added the price in the title.

Does this pass everyone's inspection? look around

If they automatically enroll you in their premium plan once you sign up (with the first month being free), then technically it's $55 since you have to pay to downgrade service to the free plan. But again I don't want to wade through 95 posts to find out. Thank you for the link. I knew you'd graduate eventually. nod

I assumed that your only charged an extra $5 if you CHOOSE not to have "auto top-up". So, technically it should still be $49.99 if you downgrade to the free plan & keep "auto top-up enabled". Correct me if I'm wrong Stick Out Tongue

Either way thanks for the graduation hat Big Grin

Thanks OP. This is actually not a bad tablet for $50 plus I can get $15 cash back from some website out there. I actually brought 2 same lg tablets, one my son lost and other which we are using. My son was using an hisense sero pro 7 and this tablet over overheats and starting to shut down. Might as well buy this one and to replace it instead.

If that $5 fee is true, that's a new "feature" for FP. Usually, it's free to downgrade plans. But in all fairness, they gotta make money somehow...

Yes, the $5 fee is a standard charge now to turn off auto top-off. Most devices, you can just shut off your data 125Mb before your limit. I would put in a warming at 150Mb left, so you know not to stream, download, speedtest or any other bandwidth hungry activity. (I think they auto-charge at 100Mb left, so a buffer of 25Mb should work, unless you are streaming 4K videos)

I have a refurbed Gpad on R+ but mine is Spark LTE only. Great little wifi only but will hit 59Mbps on Spark. Not the highest specs but battery lasts long time.

No, that's a different fee. The one mentioned in the OP is a $5 fee to downgrade from their premium plan to the free plan. I don't see it mentioned on FP's page, but I didn't bother going to the checkout page.
Still a good deal for a pretty good phablet. I don't need one though.
