Very first post, please go easy on me! Tried to search to see if anyone posted already but didnt see anything.

Apperently Netgear is decommisioning Vuezone, so they're offering current Vuezone owners the 4 camera Arlo system for $300 (reg $500). Theyre also offering the same system refurbed for $150. You have to click through your email to get the offer, but after i calmed down from being angry hat theyre decommisioning vuezone, this is a pretty solid deal.

Check your emails, Hope this helps some!

As part of our effort to minimize the impact of the VueZone discontinuation of services on our customers, NETGEAR is extending significant discounts of the NETGEAR Arlo HD Security System to VueZone customers who would like to switch to Arlo before July 31st, 2016.

Save from 40% on a standard Arlo 4-camera system to 70% on a refurbished 4-camera system. That's up to $350 saving!

Arlo is the world's first high definition, completely wire-free, weatherproof, smart home security solution. With Arlo, you'll get everything VueZone can offer and much more.

Any generic link? I realize it is targeted, but would be sweet if there was a generic link.

The link takes you to sign in to vuezone. But once logged in it goes right to the offer. Id post a screengrab but i bought the new system for $300 and it wont display it again.

As a ripped off 2 camera Vuezone customer why would I want to pay $150 for something they can just decide to discontinue in another year?

That reads like buying a car you expect to last for 20 years and being told you need to turn it in after 5 years because the mfg cheated on emissions inspection. But you should be happy because they are giving you some piddling compensation.

Oh wait, I did that with my VW Jetta TDI.

This is not just a small discount or compensation... But a 4 camera system for $150! That's like VW offering you a chance to buy a Porsche for price of a VW. I would take that deal every 5 years... BTW, no one expects a car to last 20 years, or electronics to last more than 4 to 5 years.... If they are still working, you would still upgrade because of the available advancements in the marketplace...

That's a REFURB for $150.
My '88 Ford Maxivan is going strong as is my '04 Honda Civic. In the VW diesel community there are many who expected to get 20 years of service or 300,000 miles out of their TDI's.

And their offer has no guarantee that they won't dump the platform again.

So I guess that lumps you in the "no one" group.

/edit I bought their freakin camera system less than 2 years ago. I've a Foscam I've been using for 6 years. The "electronics" in the camera doesn't advance like computers. Rather this is a company selling a product that REQUIRES their "system" and then dropping support entirely.

And do you pay FULL LIST RETAIL for everything?

I think what happened is that Netgear bought their competition and now running the two similar products makes no sense, so they're phasing out Vuezone. But now that they have a single product, hopefully they don't decomm Arlo anytime soon, but I guess you never know!

Is there a refurb package for $150?

If so, can someone provide a link?

The refurb. is for $150, but the link is for existing owner of old Vuezone only. As far as I can tell, it can only be redeemed once per account. Hope that helps.

Edit: According to the fine print
1. Offer is limited to existing U.S. VueZone customers who currently own a VueZone system.
2. Limit one Arlo Security System per VueZone base station. For example, if you own two VueZone base stations, you can buy two Arlo Security Systems at the offer prices.
3. Only VueZone base stations registered prior to July 1, 2016 are eligible for this promotion.
4. Order submitted in response to this offer cannot be cancelled or refunded.
5. Your VueZone account and associated VueZone system will be permanently deactivated 21 days after the purchased Arlo Security System is delivered.
6. Disabled VueZone systems will not be re-activated, and customer agrees not to resell or attempt to resell the disabled VueZone system.
7. Paid VueZone monthly service plans will NOT be refunded.
8. Paid and unused VueZone annual service plans will be pro-rated and credited to your order subtotal during checkout.
9. Products offered in this promotion are entitled to NETGEAR limited 1-year hardware warranty and 90 days of 24/7 basic technical support from purchase date.
10. This promotion expires on July 31, 2016.
