Consutronix has DEMO Microsoft Surface Pro 4 i5 4 GB 128 GB for $526.31+$32.89 tax and $9.99 shipping = $570.

Never heard of the seller and not sure what "demo" means. Has anyone dealt with them?

Looks like new company in Canada. Also all the surface pro machines labeled "demo" sell for almost half price, not sure how they are doing that

demo is the products used in stores to "demonstrate" it. like the ones you play with at BB. "i think".

If these are sales demo units ala displays out in the retail stores, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 feet pole considering how people abuse those units.

microsoft sends the products to resellers as demo with 50% off the price...

check the below example pdf from microsoft for surface pro 3

i think its called surface demo device program..

I've done quite a few evaluations at big box retailers and I've never seen anyone "abuse" the Surface demos. That being said, I'm sure if I worked there I'd see a lot of something or another. Demo could also mean the units the sales people are given to use and demo with, which I would trust more than a floor model. (A sales person once told me they give them demos to use, apparently for both work and pleasure. One of the employees I've seen had his in an ultra tough case.)

I've actually bought a demo unit dGPU i5/256 surface book for about 1200 after tax and conversion. For some reason a lot of Canadian retailers list these demo units on their websites. I placed about 5 orders on different websites when I saw this back in Feb. Four of them got cancelled citing stock problems except 1 mentioned the listing is only meant for retailers such as bestbuy and is not meant to be sold to consumers. The 1 website that didn't cancel eventually shipped them out after a whole month.. I won't list the site as all demo units have long been removed. Got a SP4 keyboard from there for 70 also. I wouldn't doubt these are legit but I'm betting there's not a very high chance they will ship.

If they do you should receive a brand new in box item. The model number will be somewhat different but if you google it the results should indicate that it's a "demo" model.

Just gave them a call for ordering over the phone. All demo models are out of stock.

Dude.. why did you call? They're not suppose to sell these to consumers and you just alerted a real person to the listing. It was a small chance they were going to ship anyways but it would only be by the system automatically processing payment and then forwarding to shipping.
