Looking to buy something soon, but can wait a few months for something better/cheaper. Don't need one ASAP. Will be my first full size notebook. I want to game a little, simple photo/video/audio editing, something futureproof but not superexpensive top of the line. My preferred specs:

14" (prefer, can live with 15") some kind of IPS or better display, 1080 or better
Current gen i7 quad core (for simple video/photo/audio editing, gaming)
Some kind of newer SSD slot (M2?), besides/other than the standard SATA3
either SSD or a hybrid, if the latter i'll replace with SSD
8 or upgradable to 16GB RAM DDR3 or DDR4?
Some kind of gaming graphics card, preferrably nvidia
Backlit keyboard would be nice
HDMI port or is display port better/newer? Something that i can connect to a tv or external monitor.
USB 3.0 ports
USB-C or thunderbolt (1/2/3?)
Doesn't have to be an ultrabook, but don't want a brick either.
Brands - any, not a fan of Lenovo, prefer a premium line if not too expensive.
Budget ~$600-900 +/-
