If it's the Cash+ card that lets you pick your own 5% categories TOTALLY worth it even without the $50.

Electronics category includes stores like newegg, best buy etc....
Bookstore category says it's only kindle but works for ANYTHING you buy at amazon.
Dept stores covers Sears, Kohl's and several others....combined with discover and chase freedom(and citi divided) you can use the us bank to choose whatever categories the other 2(citi dividend no longer available for new accounts) are not covering.

I did this combo deal maybe 2 years ago or so. In my opinion, opening a credit card was well worth it even without the bonus, because it eliminates the Gold checking account monthly maintenance fee.

I got the Visa Cash+ card, but the bonus was $100 with $500 spend at the time. This bonus is half that, but you only need to spend 10% of the previous deal minimum. So technically this could be seen as a better deal.

The card itself has been awesome. My 5% categories are Electronics Stores and Fast Food, so I rack up a ton of cashback at stores that aren't covered by my other rewards cards (except for the occasional rotating quarterly category). Some of those places actually net me 10% cashback when combined with a cashback portal/site.

Having a US Bank checking account has just been the cherry on top. Otherwise, cashback rewards from the card would have to be used as statement credits or used to purchase Visa gift cards in $25 increments. But with a US Bank checking account, the rewards can be swept into that account, and then you can transfer them to your main checking account (if it isn't the US Bank one). That's extremely convenient. And once again, the Gold account monthly maintenance fee is eliminated when you have a US Bank credit card.

All in all, this is a very good deal just for the credit card and the convenience of being able to move the rewards into a checking account. Both the card and the checking account have been an extremely beneficial combo.

If you are spending money on the card, then it is totally different logic and yours is perfectly fine. Just bonus wise, $50 seems to be a bit low. I dont want any inquiries unless they cough up at least $150 to 200.

Mr Dupont

Note: You do not need a promo code when you apply for your credit card. You will receive your $50 credit card bonus if you used a promo code to open your checking package and met the qualifying criteria to receive your $150 bonus.

Is there any other better bank offers that come around and don't require that ridiculous $15/k deposite. Not going to transfer that much and have a chance to get audited.

I just have chase as of right now.
