This cracked my drywall after moderate use. I weigh 165 lbs.
Yep, I used to charge $100+ a door to replace the casing because of these things when I did rental property. Sometimes they would crack the top casing or door jamb even, but at the very least they would dent 2 side pieces of casing... People don't like coming off their security deposit for damage they know they did... go figure...

from the picture I don't get how it'll be installed on door. I might end up breaking my door with my weight lol

I am with you there, my whole house is made of wood frames around all the doors. I feel like i would just be prying it down when i put my weight down on it,

Wrong. These put pressure on both sides of the doorway simultaneously.

it will create dents or still break the wood frame on both sides.

snagged one! I had one in my old home and it worked well but I ended up throwing it away for some reason. my new apartment has metal doorframe though! if you have cheaper wood frames this will dent. also if you have an old home it might not be wide enough to hang up properly.

Do these leave scuff marks? Asking as someone renting an apartment.

Yes, which is why most people wrap the bars with tshirts.

Man, I saw a story about a woman who used one of these and became paralyzed when it didn't hold her weight and she landed on her neck.

I'm not sure I'd trust my weight and life on a door frame.
