Hi everyone, I spent a lot of time at Best Buy looking at this model, the Surface Pro 4, and the Yoga 900. Something to think about before you switch to a 2-in-1 is are you going to use it mostly as a laptop or tablet?

I use mine mostly as a laptop and the keyboard made the difference to me. Sure the SP4 is a great machine, but I would argue the Yoga feels better as a laptop as the keyboard on the SP4 just felt too loose.

I eliminated the Yoga 14 because as a tablet it just seemed too big compared to the SP4 and Yoga 900. I ultimately went with the Yoga 900 as I liked the smaller size.

There are definitely cost and performance differences. This model is a great choice for the $, the Yoga 900 and SP4 will roughly cost you the same when you add in the keyboard you have to buy.

If you live close to a store you can compare different models I'd strongly urge you to try them out in both tablet and laptop mode to see which one feels right for you. I hope this helps someone - just my $.02.

The Asus laptop seems to be a better deal although its missing the SSD. How easy would it be to replace it? I am tempted to buy this. What do you guys think?

What matters is do you want a 14" or 15.6" laptop ?

One isn't "better" than the other.

Good deal on the Yogaa, very close to what I want though wish it had 2x the storage or more.

Anyone tried the keyboard and touchpad? I dislike all touchpads but some are better than others.

I've been looking for a 14 inch that was okay with gaming. However I have a strict budget... Is this a good deal for this or is there a better deal I don't know of? Thanks !

Bought the Asus but couldn't find any information online about upgrading. Anyone know how easy it is to upgrade/replace battery, RAM, HDD, CPU? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Been using an old Dell e1405 where I upgraded/replaced all of the above, but the upgraded CPU eats through the battery too quickly, it's bulky, doesn't support virtualization, etc. So I thought it was time for a new one.

Thanks OP..Bought this ultraportable. One of the Best Deal I saw for a 2016 model 14" 1080P Touch with Skylake CPU with 256GB SSD. I was debating with HP Envy (629$+tax) in the last week deal but it was bit heavier (4.8 pounds) than this.
