Awesome and easy to install CPU cooler. Originally had the 212 Evo in my machine, but decided to switch to this and never looked back; in my experience it's been quieter and dropped my CPU a few more degrees.

Is this better than the EVO?

It runs slightly cooler and is a lot quieter.

If it was the same price get this. If you already have the evo kind of pointless and not worth the hassle.

I have one of these and it keeps my 3570k @4.3 ghz at a max temp of 53c on full load. I got mine for 36 bucks so it's not stellar but cheaper regardless.

i've always used the stock heatsink and never used a third party one, how easy is this to install for a new build? thank you.

I have this cooler and it's been perfect. Looks great, runs quiet, and keeps the temps low and stable. Definitely recommend it for a $30 cooler.

If you're on an even tighter budget or don't have enough room, the Cryorig M9 is an option. It cools as well as 212 Evo while being much smaller and (subjectively to me) better looking.

pairing this with the MSI z97s Krait edition motherboard since the evo 212 won't fit in my corsair case

I originally wanted this exact cooler until I stumbled upon the H100i v2 and decided i wanted that. when I told 2 friends that I wanted the all in one, I was scolded and was told it was unnecessary (I plan on OCing a 6700k). can someone with vast CPU cooling knowledge tell me exactly why? if we're to ignore costs, why should i choose a fan instead of the all in one? and if I did go with this CPU fan, what should be my solution to create an substitution for the all in one? additional fans? (I apologize for this being all over the place, typed it up at work)

I have an h5 which has a few less heat pipes and I'm a big fan ( pardon the pun). It runs my 3570k@4.3 ghz with 53 degrees on max load. The H7 was too big for my case so I had to settle with the H5. I paid 36 bucks for the H5, this is a steal at this price.
Are you sure the H7 was bigger? I was under the impression that the H5 was bigger as it utilize 140mm fan, keep the cpu few degree cooler than the H7, hence why the higher price. The H7 was slightly taller I believe.
