Graphics Card for Video Editing PC

I'm building a PC for video editing. Starting out w/32GB RAM, m.2 500GB SSD and an i7 6700K. Need to drive two 4K monitors. I want to get a graphics card in the NVidia family and will not be playing any games, but do need to eventually encode/decode H.265 (the H.265 need is not immediate).

Would a GTX 970 meet these requirements? I know the GTX 1070 will be more future proof from an H.265 standpoint but the deals will be limited in the near term given how new it is. Thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated.

Edit: Forgot to include the 1060 in the potential candidates.

Of those listed, the 1060 seems to be the sweetest spot for the money. Another option may be the 960 as it has specific hardware compatible with your decoding needs.
