is a micro SDXC going to perform the same as a normal sized SDXC in an ADAPTER in a DSLR?

I see a good deal for a micro sdxc Lexar 633x 64GB TF micro SDXC Micro SD SDXC UHS-I U3 Class 10 for $12.99

The same card as a regular sized sdxc is $30. Would the micro(in an adapter) perform identically as the reg sdxc in my dslr? thanks

full size can have a bigger controller to be faster, if same speed, it maybe same controller.

if same price, choose Micro with adapter, because more device can use it. if you only care about performance, full size is better, because without the adapter, less connections, less thing can go wrong, and bigger has better cooling.

that cheap one is fake,
you can follow this formula to spot fake,
from ebay, it's 90% fake.
from China, 99% fake.
new, 90% fake,
cheap, 99% fake,

so that cheap one from ebay and china and new is 378% fake

I pretty much agree here, I have not seen any MicroSD cards that are rated as fast as their Full Sized SD counterparts. So that pretty much answers the OP's questions. It's write speed thats important too, as you want to unload the buffer asap. OP didn't mention their camera model either but some cards require newer technology that won't write as fast as the card is capable of. So it goes both ways. Read speed will be later on when your using a card reader to pull media off on a USB 3 card reader. If OP is using USB2 or using the camera to act as a reader then card speed doesn't matter nearly as much.

On the fake version there are a lot of fake cards out there. I would only buy from reputable stores and be careful at that. B&G, Adorama, and Amazon Direct (Not 3rd parties) (You still need to be careful with amazon, at least they have a good warranty).

Then when you get a new card test it. Make sure you can actually write 64gb of data to it, make sure its speeds are ball park accurate, etc. Price is a good indicator. It's not a deal when a card is 80% off (Assuming the retail price isnt jacked up) it would be a fake card at that point.
