Hm, 6% off, just enough to offset part of the tax.

FYI Last time we had a discussion about the cash/ credit price. I paid with a BP GC and I got the cash price at the gas station in Tampa, FL. Since BP in my area is only 1 cent more expensive than SamClub, GC are great if you by them for the right price.

FYI for those on the West Cost. Recently Arco was bought out by another company, so the BP giftcards no longer work at Arco, and I am unaware of another BP owned store in this area.

Anyone knows if this works in Shell stations in North California (Bay Area)?

ARCO BP info: Yes, ARCO is removing BP gc option. It's not all done yet. I have used to it many locations in NoCal, very recently. Many ARCO accepted it and to be fair, many didn't.
But, if you get stuck with these GCs and can't use it at any ARCO nearby, there is a way out. A little time consuming, but it works. You can call at the phone number behind the GC and ask them to convert your card into ARCO gc. and they'll. They'll askl you to email card info, your info, etc etc. And in couple of weeks or so, they'll ship ARCO gc as replacements.
Hope this helps someone!
Enjoy the deal (not as great as it actually gets at times, 10% isn't hard to come by on these cards with ebay bucks or just flat discounts. I, for one, gonna wait)
TUed anyway Smilie

Used to be $90. You can often get 6% off gas with a credit card and not have to prepay with a gift card.

I have used these at the following ARCO stations:

Danville, CA (three weeks ago)
Moraga, CA (a month ago)
Oakland, CA West Grand Ave (last week)
Concord, CA (two months ago)

But you buy ebay gift cards with a ink card and get 11% off (not including ebay cash). I agree that with only a 5% delta, it's really not worth the effort.

How do you get 11%? just using chase ink? or some specific way. I don't have ink. have chase freedom. Is ink a lot better? Didin't know you could get 11% cashback on ebay purchases. Thats too good.

The Chase Ink give you 5% CB on certain categories, Office Supplies store is among those. Basically buy ebay GC @ Staples/OD/OM/Paypal Digital Gift@Ebay, then use that GC on this deal.

Some combination of buying gift cards at stores (office supply) then applying those to the purchase. By that logic, the Amex Blue Cash Preferred is the best because 6% at grocery stores.

Can combine this with the current Best Buy deal of 25 back on $250 spent on Amex to buy ebay gift cards and then apply those to the purchase.

Still doesn't become 11%. He said 11% in a way as if it's in direct transaction. That's what made me wonder. look around

Great idea! But wondering if we would pay taxes on the gift cards purchased from Staples/OD/OM?
