Would like to see a Skylake combo deal with a $100+ discount (as with previous Intel deals). This doesn't seem to be the case.

Shit I just built my computer less than a week ago, i5-6500, Asus z170 pro gaming, 16gb ddr4-2400 cost me 500. Damnit I screwed myself good. No money left for this deal.

So basically buy the CPU ($240 on amazon) and MoBo ($110 on Newegg), get free RAM ($55 on Newegg)

Not bad if you want these parts. I have nothing against the Motherboard except that it might as well be a microATX board. Only 4 SATA, and those old-school PCI slots on the bottom are pretty much worthless these days... Maybe Asus just has a bunch of PCI slots laying around their factories... who knows...

Mobo is uninteresting to a gamer or power user, the ram is low grade.

Mobo is really mediocre. Terrible reviews, PCI slots, USB-C that's 3.0, non-Intel NIC. Most other z170 boards are overpriced, though, and good luck finding regularly finding i5-k on sale for $200 at Newegg (which this essentially is).

If I were a consumer considering this and I was not in an extreme rush or forced to purchase for Newegg (maybe for international s/h reasons), I would purchase separate with one of the eBay $200 sales for the CPU, any other $50 for 16gb DDR4 sale, and try to find a not mediocre motherboard. (No PCI slots, good customer reviews, USB-C that is 3.1 or Thunderbolt 2, HDMI 2.0, Intel NIC, etc)

CPU was on sale around 200 for the past month or so off ebay/Frys/Antares/Jet.
16gb DDR4 regularly on sale for $50.

If you absolutely needed the Pro Gaming Mobo specifically, that does add an additional $65 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6813132641 ) Not sure how you shot up to $500? Embarrassment Impulse buying? bounce woot worshipZzZZz

even though it cost you $500, how is this build working out for you, any complaints I was also interested in the Asus z170 pro gaming board.

There aren't any motherboards that support HDMI 2.0, are there? I saw a $170 beast of a motherboard (the ASROCK Z170 OC Formula on sale here a few days ago) that had onboard video supporting a max resolution of 3840 x 2160 @ 24 Hz, which I believe is just HDMI 1.4. HDMI 2.0 can support up to 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz, if I'm not mistaken, and I haven't seen any motherboards that can support that.

Please let me know if I'm wrong. I was really hoping to find a motherboard that supports HDMI 2.0 but it seems even one of the most high-end motherboards I could find doesn't support it.

Why did you bother with a Z170 board without a K CPU?

I can't seem to get the combo without being forced to select a hard drive also. How did you do it?
