And unlike APC, CyberPower covers the battery under the 3-year warranty!

Always bring surge protector with you to hotels. Good for electronic gadgets.

Perfect for a small standalone desktop. Probably not enough juice for a large gaming rig, but it's good enough for a browsing/office desktop and it's not much bigger than a surge protector. This is good for an occasional power blip, but do not expect it to be able to run the machine for extended periods without power.

At full load, 185W = 4 minutes of power
At half load, 92.5 W = 9 minutes of power.

Unless you have a power hungry server/gaming rig, most desktops should get at least 5 minutes of power, which should be enough to save your work and shut down the machine.

I was looking for a small UPS to use with my low wattage file server. This fits the bill perfectly, thanks for posting it!

It doesn't mention so i'm guessing this doesn't have a USB/serial connection that would automatically initiate a shutdown in the event of power going down huh?

This unit has ONLY a serial port - no USB port - to connect to a desktop to use the PowerPanel software. Most recent computers don't have a serial port anymore.

The owner's manual is copyright 2001 and references only XP/2000/NT - you can locate it on the CyberPower site under the model number CPS325SL (there is no listing for "CP325SL")..

I hope these haven't been in storage that long! OMG

Serial only.
Yeah. Besides I wouldn't recommend putting a desktop (including monitor) on a UPS rated for less than 350 watts or, if you're not using integrated-graphics, 550 watts. This one's only rated for 185 watts.

I've been thinking about getting this to power a TV antenna amplifier, but have an old UPS that's no longer in use which might do.
