I don't think 6 series in Samsung is HDR.

It seems like a very good deal at $430, other seller have it for $597.99. But other deals on primeday make this one cold. I was eyeing at UN40J6300 at 399.99 and this one got 4K for only 30.00 more. Please anyone has experience shed some light here. Thanks

I hear you. 40" seems very small, and probably useless for 4K except as perhaps a monitor.

I am picking up the 55" from BB on my way home. It's "the new 42". I wanted 65", but it just won't fit...plus, the price premium is too high.

Versus this, where the price premium to go to 55" isn't that much.

Much of the chatter on the 6 series is that it's their bargain line and needs to be priced accordingly. These prices, while good for Samsung, aren't as hot compared to other models.

Not sure if I answered your question, or just vented. Wink

Quoting this from rtings

Some of the new 2016 Samsung TV's like the KU6300 and KU7000 state that they have "HDR Premium" support and can receive HDR-10 signals. However, after reading your review of these two TV's, it seems they do not benefit at all because they do not have advanced 10-bit panels. If this is the case, then why does Samsung advertise this feature on the product box and on their website? Is it simply to try and mislead potential buyers?
It is misleading, but it is not just Samsung, all the manufacturers are doing it now. Technically, these TVs do accept the HDR10 signal, they just don't benefit from it. If you want to have a good HDR experience, you would need to buy a higher end models like the Samsung KS8000 or KS9000.

looks like it'd make a solid PC monitor

It 100% does have 4:4:4 chroma, great PC monitor usage, input lag is there and I do see some issues whilest playing overwatch but extremely playable! I'd recommend it to anyone as a monitor.

I don't game; I bought it for work. I just got it today, but it seems highly similar to the 40JU6500 (its predecessor), which I've used since last November. I'd recommend it! Smilie

It has HDR but not a 10 bit panel, so doesn't really use it, almost got it to use as a monitor, but not going to be good. Pass.

I just purchased this to use as a monitor. Is there a way to turn off the TV without the remote? The jog stick powers it on just fine, but doesn't seem to work as a power off button. Odd.

Edit: Seems to be working now.
