I saw an ebay seller selling refurbished versions of this for $12.95 with free shipping. They sold 3,000 of them. In other words... stay the heck away from this disaster. lol

The reviews seem okay and worst case scenario? You just return it to Amazon. Simple!

According to the FAQ here:

It does support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections (so yes it'll work with your dual-band router).

Seems like most of the bad reviews are due to poor drivers from windows 8 and beyond. Still running 7 on all my rigs so I will take a chance on this. Thanks OP

Garbage. Got one a while back at Staples on clearance. Overheats and drops connections. USB 2 is also a terrible design, limiting throughput. There's a reason for the price and all the refurbs.

I have this. It works fine when it works, but needs to be reset pretty frequent. I used it with Windows 8.1 machine FWIW. It was good for what I used it for- a backup to a wired connection when I was using a hotspot waiting for a cable installation but I would not recommend it for any long-term sustained use.

LOL what a bogus marketing tactic. Shows normally as $49 even though camelcamelcamel shows that it was $20 several times before.

Just bought this a couple days ago at Best Buy for $37. Works great!
I is now showing as $49.50 at Amazon. What's up?!

If you look at the tiny blue highlight/banner that says "PRIME DAY DEAL" it'll say "Your price at checkout is $13.99."
