have a power color r9 380, the card keeps crashing my computer as many reviews indicated, sending it back for RMA.

And good luck getting the rebate. Mail in rebates are such a scam. Who has the time to go through all the CRAP they require to get it.

Newegg has the MSI 980ti for $399.99 ($369.99 after MIR) even with the 1070 out, the 980ti is still a very capable card.

"capable" indeed...

handles anything thrown at it 60+fps at 2560x1440. it will run 1920x1080 while idling.......

Been waiting a whole month for the 1070 to drop to MSRP of $379.99. How much does the 1070 beat the 980ti?

Depends on the resolution and game.

a stock 1070 only beats a reference 980Ti by a couple FPS in certain benchmarks. this is a factory overclocked non-reference 980Ti. it beats a factory spec'd 1070 in everything. careful reading reviews and benchmarks as the majority of them only compare the 1070/1080 to the original reference 980Ti. these non reference boards are easily 10+fps faster than the stock cards from Nvidia. they also have a lot of room for further overclocking as they have aftermarket cooling. my overclocked MSi 980Ti 6G benchmarks from 15 to 20 fps higher than a reference 980Ti.

if you are gaming at 1920x1080 either card will easily handle any game at max settings for the next few years.

Not GTA V. No single video card, even the mighty GTX1080 will do this game max at 1080p60fps. Maybe 2 GTX1080 might do it.

It's TDP is 250w as opposed to the 150W of a 1070 FYI.

The only good thing about this post is that it's actually a deal of a new previous gen gpu. I'll give my thumbs up. I personally prefer to wait.

A 1070 would easily max out GTA V at 1080p. 1080p is a fairly low standard with these latest cards.

Take a look at this benchmark:

http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...585-3.html

Even at 2560x1440, the 1070 averages 68.6fps at very high settings.
