Editor's Notes & Price Research
Buy first, think second.
- WAIT! Yes wait.Right now all these charges are pending on your credit/debit cards and the transactions have not been posted (aka become finalized). Technically at this point, all transactions are simply pre-authorizations.
- Once the transactions POST, then check the amount(s) you were actually charged.
- IF you were charged the wrong amounts after they finish posting as finalized transactions (not before) then: contact Amazon and tell them your invoice/email confirmation, etc shows $100 + $199 (+ tax) but you were charged more. Tell them it is obviously a mistake, and that you understand mistakes happen, so when can you expect the refund to be issued to correct their error. DO NOT MENTION THAT YOU KNOW THE PRICE WAS A MISTAKE WHEN YOU ORDERED!!!!
- IF, and only IF amazon gives you a hard time or refuses to refund you, then you issue a chargeback with the credit card company using your invoice/email confirmation as proof. You will win this chargeback. But only do it as a last resort. By law you have up to 60 days from the date of the statement on which an incorrect charge appears to initiate the chargeback. SO YOU HAVE TIME. Don't Panic.
Courtesy Promotion mail from Amazon to return extra items and in return amazon is giving $50-$200 for inconvenience.
We're contacting you about XXX-XXXXXXX-XXXXXXX. We recently learned there was an error that allowed you to add additional Xbox One bundles or components in the Shopping Cart showing the Prime Day discount, even though there was a limit of one per customer.
As a result, you received the Prime Day discount on one bundle and were charged our normal price on additional components when the order shipped.
Please feel free to return the extra components for a full refund. Please visit http://www.amazon.com/returns to print a postage-paid mailing label to return the extra shipment within 30 days of delivery at our expense.
We're sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience this may have caused. To help make up for the inconvenience, we've added a $YM.MV promotional certificate to your account. This amount will automatically apply the next time you buy an eligible item shipped and sold by Amazon.com.
We appreciate your business and hope to see you again soon.
