Been on the lookout for a deal on this particular model and it is at its lowest price ever according to ccc. It is a prime day lightning deal with 47% claimed at the time of this post so don't hesitate if you need one! The model number is BW2300.

Yes it should be. For the extra money you get 5 year warranty, adjustable thermostat, remote control, and a bunch of other stuff.

Looks solid. Tax is $3 though.. also I believe it would only work in a window

this fan, albeit an older model, made it through 3 years of college dorms/apartments plus another 4 years after school.
the ability to change blade direction without removing it from the window + the thermostat that turns the blades off at a certain temp easily make it worth an extra $10 over the analog version.

This is a great unit. Costco sells it for a similar price ($40 I think). I've had one for years and it runs almost constantly during summer.

The model that costco carries is the older model that triqsix references above. Unfortunately they charge $10 for shipping and none of the costcos around my area carry it instores.

Sorry to hear that. The Costcos up here in Pacific NW carry this exact model. Mine has the digital thermostat, remote, reversible blades, etc. It's the same unit.

This is a great window fan. The first one I had went rouge and is always on even when the lights go off. Something in the controls must have blew. That said their customer service is outstanding. They sent me a new unit and let me keep the old one as well.

I noticed the newer unit was updated and the fan now slows down more before changing directions. I think that's why my last unit failed.

I'm interested in this... but just wondering - what do you do each time when you have to turn that air conditioner on?
