It says the deal price is $299.99.

Edit - looks like you're linking to the Nikon AE. The Canon one is $270.99.

I think I'll pass on this as it doesn't have AE. Not that it's that difficult, I just hate complete manual mode...

The AE on the nikon is poorly implemented and often gives a false positive. My photo friends just ignore it.

You will love manual if you ever become a better photographer. But that is your choice.

Set aperture to f 5.6 and everything on this wide angle is in focus from 5 feet away. And the quality is as good and often better then the canon 14mm 2.8 which costs $2000 and weighs twice as much.
